| | Shallots Shallots are a relative of the onion having a firm texture with a sweet, aromatic and pungent flavor that makes them good for cooking. The small bulbs have a redish-brown skin and white interior. Enjoyed in salad dressings, sauces and pasta dishes. About 1/2 cup is a serving size.
