We have had both salads and pasta in them and they make a nice presentation on any table. Cons: They are about 11 inches wide so you need somewhere to store them. I would not recommend putting these in the dishwasher. Conclusion: Really nice bowls that can be used for any kind of entree and are found in any kitchen store. They are generic and were bought in bed bath & beyond.
