Brand & Type: R H Forschner 10-inch Chef's Knife, Black Fibrox Handle

Price range: $25 - $40 knife

Rating: Medium

Description: 10-inch Chef's Knife with slip resistant handle made of black fibrox.

Pros: Comfortable handle design. Nice sharp blade out of the box.

Cons: Blade is stamped, that only matters if you want more weight or a thicker blade.

Conclusion: This is a very good knife, and of course it comes with the America's Test Kitchen recommendation. We generally prefer heavier knives from Wusthof but this is a nice knife and it is much cheaper than the German or Japanese knives. 10 inch knives are quite long so you should be sure that is what you need. We have used 8 inch and 10 inch chef's knives for vegetables and meat, and we find for normal sized people that an 8 inch has more control.
