Brand & Type: Analog Instant-Read Dial Thermometer, unknown brandthermometer

Price range: Medium

Rating: Medium

Description: Black and white Fahrenheit analog instant read thermometer with protective cover. It marks what temperatures various meats need to reach when cooking.

Pros: Simple design and mechanism. The temperature marks are handy to have on hand.

Cons: The design inherent in this type of thermometer is not as functional as a probe thermometer. It's a little clunky to insert into meat on tricky parts and since the temperature measurements are analog and the screen is quite small, you don't get an exact read.

Conclusion: We prefer a Digital Thermometer with a probe, since it's more exact and you can reach tricky places of a cut easier. We don't use this thermometer very much, since it isn't as precise. This thermometer works fine, but if you are looking for something functional and practical, then you're better off with a digital thermometer.
