For the price it could be constructed better, the sandwich bottom construction is not the All Clad way. But this is a large stockpot and it will most likely last a lifetime. This is a classic soup pot with the narrow bottom and high sides. If you need something of this size you should consider this pot, but realize it is not the same construction as their 6 and 8 quart dutch ovens. Any of these large All Clad stock pots would be great to make cheese in or steam lobster.
