We are working with Lynac Lithium Technology on the battery part of this project, so they sent us two of these 200Ah True Series LiFePO4 batteries to be the heart of this system. Each battery is a "True" 200Ah (amp hours) of capacity so that means that when you multiply the nominal 12 volt output of 12.8 volts you get a "True" 2,560 Watt Hours of capacity in each battery. 2560 Watt Hours = 12.8 volts x 200 Amp Hours So the whole system measures 5,120 Watt Hours of capacity. 5,120 Watt Hours = 2560 Watt Hours x 2 Batteries The batteries are arranged in parallel so the output voltage is 12.8 volts nominal with a capacity of 400 Amp Hours. We decided to keep the batteries in parallel to make it easier, since most of the standard DC appliances are 12 volt. The top vent fan, the led lights, standard 12 volt accessory plugs, USB connectors...etc are all 12 volts so that made sense to maintain.
