Wine glasses are probably some of the most widely used glasses among all the other drink glasses. The red wineglass glass has a wider, rounder bowl than the white wine glass which has straighter sides and is narrower. The red wine glass with its wider bowl allow the wine to breath, whereas the smaller surface area of the white wine glasses keeps the wine chilled for a longer period of time.

Nowadays, there are so many different wine glasses available to buy in different price ranges as well as shapes. When it comes to red wines, many experts prefer a larger glass so they can swirl the wine around in it in order to incorporate more air and releasing the aromas. Wine glasses traditionally range in volume from 6 to 10 ounces, however some glasses are much larger than that.

High quality wine glasses can be rather expensive, and then they also tend to be very thin and delicate. This poses a problem since they become very easy to break, especially when you wash them. Therefore, we prefer to buy relatively cheap wine glasses for the casual glass of wine. If you have the really fancy, thin, elegant glasses, by all means, you do want to use them. However perhaps you want to only use them when you have a really good bottle of wine where it actually would make a difference what glass you used.
