German Chocolate Cake icing is great for just about anything. We chose to put this on cupcakes, but this batch is usually doubled and used for 2 layers of a cake. Good for 12 cupcakes or 1 layer of cake Method In a sauce pan slowly heat up the sweetened condensed milk and egg yolks for 5 minutes until slightly thickened. Cool slightly and then add the coconut, pecans and vanilla. Cool for an hour and then spread on cakes or cupcakes. If you cool the icing in the fridge overnight you may want to heat up gently before trying to spread.
