On this hot day in early September we decided to make a blackberry ice cream. The blackberries used here were picked fresh today just around the area we live in. This area of Oregon has many fruit trees and bushes all over the place, so you have your pick between apples, berries and grapes. Method Boil the berries with 2 teaspoons of sugar over medium-low heat for about 20 minutes. Then strain the seeds (if you wish) with a sifter and add the milk and cream with 1/2 sugar. Refrigerate the bowl for at least 2 hours. Then add the mix to your ice cream maker.
