When you're not in the mood for something too heavy or complicated, however you would still like an elegant dessert, then this baked fruit dish is simple, yet sublime. It's actually a very versatile dessert since you could use apples, peaches or nectarines for example. This dessert feels quite light and it's rather refreshing to serve after a heavy meal, plus it's a good way to enjoy fruits that are in season.
4 servings Ingredients: - 2 pears, cored and cut in half
- brown sugar
- 1 lemon
- butter
- heavy cream
- white sugar
Method:
Put the oven on 400 degrees. In an ovenproof dish, place the pears with the cut side facing upwards. Sprinkle about one teaspoon of brown sugar on each pear half. Zest the lemon, and distribute the zest as well, also add some lemon juice on each. Put about 1 tablespoon of butter on each pear half and bake in the oven for about 10 minutes, or until they are soft.
Meanwhile whip a cup of cream with two tablespoons of sugar until soft peaks form. Serve a pear half with all the juices alongside a dollop of whipped cream.
