The dried pasilla or "little raisin" is a long, thin and narrow, often dark brown to black with a wrinkled skin pepper. One of the "holy trinity" of chiles of mole sauce including ancho and mulato. Having a mild to medium hot rich flavor is also known as "chile negro".
