This recipe is relatively expensive as well as high in calories. The large number of high-cost ingredients such as basil, parsley, pistachios and pine nuts drive up the cost for this recipe and the nuts as well as the cream cheese contribute to the calorie content. You have to keep in mind though, that while this might serve 15 people as an appetizer, it might just as well serve 6-8 hungry people as an appetizer just the same. Then the calories per serving dramatically goes up.

If you happen to have an herb garden or can buy herbs at a reasonable price when in season, this recipe will be slightly cheaper to make.
