This homemade granola is an excellent example of why you shouldn’t bother buying granola frommusli the store – it’s so easy to make on your own. Plus, this recipe produces a wonderful, golden brown, slightly sweet müsli with a slight hint of apple, perfect to enjoy with some yogurt, milk, or simple as is... The addition of apple sauce is great, it makes for a great taste without being over bearing. A combination of nuts and dried fruit makes it even more interesting, we used a combination of almonds, cashews, raisins, apricots and cranberries.

Method:

Mix all the ingredients together except from the dried fruit in a large bowl. Make sure to mix everything thoroughly in order to distribute the apple sauce, corn syrup and honey.

Spread the mixture out on two sheet pans and bake in 325 degree F oven for about 45 min to an hour. Stir the mixture at least once so the granola distributes evenly.

Once the granola turns golden and crispy, let cool and add the dried fruit. Store in an air tight container.
